Virginia O’Beirne
After a four year break, Virginia O’Beirne is back at 92.7FM to host her original show Walawaani which means hello, goodbye, safe journey in the Dhurga language. Virginia will be exclusively playing Aboriginal artists so tune in for fresh new music and classic hits. Walawaani is on every Thursday from 2pm to 4pm.
Greg Campbell
Greg has been a presenter with 92.7fm for over 10 years with his show Dead Set featuring the old “Grateful Dead” and lots of other great music. He has a passion for music playing in The Pirates Band as lead guitarist and vocalist. When not playing music, Greg loves meeting people and lending a helping hand in the BCR Communities garden.
Martin Benge
Having worked with the Beatles at the famed Abbey Road Studios as well as with local Aussie legends like Slim Dusty, Martin is one of our music experts in the 92.7fm team. He currently co-hosts Strolling Down Memory Lane with Renate Gerken, featuring hits from the 1930s to 1960s, Wednesday 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. As well as music and audio engineering, Martin loves golf and swimming, and giving back to the community by playing great music.
Renate Gerken
Renate is the co-host of Strolling Down Memory Lane with Martin Benge, featuring hits from the 1930s to 1960s, Wednesday 10.00 am to 12.00 noon. Renate has been volunteering with BRC Communities for over 17 years. When not on the airwaves, Renate who emigrated to Australia from Germany, enjoys meeting up with friends and entertaining, painting, cooking, playing the ukulele and, of course, listening to 92.7FM.
John Summers
Chalking up 20 years of voluntary service, John has presented over 2650 shows and lays claim to being Bay & Basin 92.7 FM’s longest serving announcer. John is a man with a huge knowledge of music, having worked in the music industry and for RCA records in the 60’s. You can listen to John’s show Yesterday’s Heroes – The Very Best of the 50’s to the 90s, every Tuesday and Thursday from
10am – 12pm.
Zena Jones
Zena will wake you up with a smile every Wednesday with her show Snapshots of Sound, from 7am to 10am. Listen to great music through the decades, triple plays from the sensational 60’s through to today’s music featuring a particular year with mixed genres plus a double shot artist aspect. Musical history “On this day” segment. The show also includes news/local weather and tide information on the hour, birthday announcement and community events and weekly interviews. Song requests always welcome. Also every alternative Friday, Zena presents a 2 hour show from 3pm “Lets get Loud” featuring a different musical theme each session. Turn up the radio and join her on both shows.
Stephen Brown
If you think rock music peaked in the late 60s with the likes of The Beatles, The Kinks, The Who and David Bowie, then you need to be listening to Stephen Brown every Tuesday morning from 7am to 10am! Our newest presenter has had a long career in radio so expect to hear a great line up of rock classics from the 60s to the early 2000s as well as community news and chats with local personalities.
Lance Stewart
Lance presents Backtrack each Tuesday afternoon from 12.30pm to 2.30pm and again on Saturday evenings from 6pm to 9pm (Fortnightly).
He has a great passion for music and can also be heard on Saturday mornings from 8am to 12pm in fortnightly rotation with Margo.
Alex Timpano
Alex is a retired paramedic who has been a presenter with BBCR 92.7FM since 2016.
Listen to Connections With Alex every Friday from 1pm to 3pm for two hours of Blues, Soul, Funk, Rhythm and Blues, and Blues Rock from around the world and Australia.
As well as keeping his community connected through his show, Alex is a volunteer for BCR Communities, regularly visiting seniors in their homes.
Jennie Armstrong
Start your week in the right way with a dose of Jennie’s enthusiasm. On her program Monday Mixed Bag with Jennie (8.00am to 10.30am), Jennie reviews the weekend, and will let you know what is coming up in your own backyard.
As well as keeping you up-to-date with all the latest releases from here and overseas, Jennie also loves playing the music that shaped our past, especially from the 60s! Many of her favourite artist are still recording and will even join Jennie for a chat on air.
John Svoboda
Cruise into Monday evening with Upbeat Songs with John from 6.00pm – 8.00pm. John’s playlist is always an eclectic mix of good vibes which are guaranteed to get those happy feelings flowing. John is heavily involved in volunteering for his community in a variety of ways and is a keen veggie gardener.

Gary Lee presents Cult Classics with his co-host Sherrie each Friday morning from 9am to 11am, delving into hits from the past and showcasing a feature artist. He also presents Down Under on a Monday morning from 11am to 2pm with co-host Sherrie, featuring established Australian artists and the best of AMRAP (Australian Music Radio Airplay Project) independent and unsigned artists.

Sherrie co-presents DownUnder, showcasing the best of Australian music talents and Cult Classics every Friday morning 9am to 11am with co-host Gary Lee. Sherrie enjoys being a radio presenter with 92.7FM because of the community atmosphere and the opportunity to interview bands and musicians. When not presenting, Sherrie loves word games, gardening and reading.
Johnnie Walker
Tune into presenter Johnnie Walker’s Black Label Jazz on a Wednesday from 2.30pm to 4.30pm and we promise you the experience will be as smooth as his name! Two hours of finely blended jazz from the earliest days to the present. In the words of Johnnie – “I like my jazz with swing, with melody and just enough of the improvisation that makes jazz so unique.”.
Bretto
Blow away the back-to-work blues by tuning into The Rock Pile with Bretto every Monday from 3pm-5pm. As the lead singer and guitarist of local band, Bando Road, Bretto lives for music and is inspired by a broad range of rock from Led Zepplin, Pearl Jam and Nirvana through to Queens of the Stone Age and the Foo Fighters. Bretto also has a passion for photography and writing and is a published children’s author.
