A big thank you, farewell and good luck to our production volunteer Jade who leaves BBCR 92.7FM after six years of service. Jade said that when she started volunteering with BBCR 92.7FM, she never thought she would end up producing her own segment – Did You Know.
“I had been involved in numerous local campaigns about the environment and social justice and being known to take an opportunity to share, it was suggested I do it officially,” Jade said.
“The Did You Know segment came out of a passion to reconnect my community with the environment and each other.”
“I took literary license in using alliterations, sound effects and humour with the help of our talented Brad, to get my messages across. In 2018 I won the first local Super Heroes Environmental Award attending a presentation at Parliament House. Whilst I spent much time alone, I did get to meet some other talented and supportive volunteers. I hope I have left behind some legacy of what I valued in life.”
