While we are sad to say farewell to our amazing radio presenter and BBCR 92.7FM Radio Advisory Youth Representative Jarod Insley, we are also very excited for him as he moves onto new challenges and adventures.
When Jarod first started as a volunteer with the station more than five years ago, it was his NDIS goal to host his own radio show. He worked hard to learn the ropes of radio presenting before achieving his dream and hosting his own show Horizon Pulse, on a Thursday afternoon.
With some support, Jarod chose a feature artist, did his own research and developed his playlist on Wednesday before presenting his show on Thursday unassisted.
Jarod also took on the responsibility of categorising and updating the database with new releases ensuring airtime for new music from Australian, Indigenous and Top 40 artists.
As the Youth Representative, Jarod was an important part of BBCR 92.7FM Radio Advisory Committee, attending meetings and making monthly reports on new releases and youth issues.
After achieving so many of his NDIS goals volunteering with BBCR 92.7FM, Jarod has now been offered paid work with McDonalds in Nowra. This is a wonderful achievement and the whole team wishes Jarod every success in his new role.
