When NDIS participant Jarod Insley started with BCR Communities he had two main goals, the first was to be a superhero and the second was to have his own radio show.
While goal one is still a work in progress, Jarod has definitely achieved his second goal, having now hosted his own radio show, Horizon Pulse, every Thursday afternoon for the last five years.
With some support, Jarod chooses the feature artist, does his own research and develops his playlist on Wednesday. He then presents his show on Thursday unassisted.
Jarod has also taken on the responsibility of categorising and updating the database with new releases ensuring airtime for new music from Australian, Indigenous and Top 40 artists.
As the Youth Representative, Jarod is also an important part of BBCR 92.7FM Radio Advisory Committee, attending meetings and making monthly reports on new releases and youth issues.
