Nine years ago, an historic meeting of hundreds of indigenous delegates called for a range of structural reforms to improve the lives of indigenous Australians.
This resulted in the Uluru Statement from the Heart that aimed to provide a roadmap to empower first nation people to achieve self-determination. I asked Griffith Law School Lecturer Eddie Synot about the importance of this collective document as a means of achieving proper reconciliation.
